Coming Soon...another example of how Funny Garbage develops innovative digital businesses is “Money Honey”, a project with CNBC financial correspondent Maria Bartiromo that’s designed to teach kids about how to save and invest wisely.
With Money Honey, Funny Garbage is creating an animated series and related web site geared toward teaching financial literacy to young people. Hosted by Maria Baritromo, short cartoons in the style of Schoolhouse Rock will play on TV and the Web to teach kids about money and finance as well as drive them to a web site with social networking and e-commerce elements. They’ll be able to participate in a fantasy financial league where they can open bank accounts, create and manage portfolios, and make trades against real data. Participating kids will also receive a certificate of financial responsibility that will enable them to set up an e-allowance that they can spend online.
